Restaurants rarely have a history quite like Hagy's. In 1825, a couple began to build a farm from the bottom land. Over the next years, they raised a family there and built a shack next to the river where they stored items to ship down the river. 

In the depression age of the 1930s, the shack became known as the "Catfish Hotel" when the Hagy family frequently entertained guests for cookouts where they served catfish, hush puppies and drinks. 

After a fire decimated the original shack, the owners rebuilt a new building that they opened as the Catfish Hotel in 1975. A descendant of the Hagy family still operates and owns it to bring you the finest southern fried food in the area. 

The menu at Hagy's is a delicious journey into all things southern and fried. You will love trying dishes like hotel fish tacos and cajun catfish. Hagy's is famous for their Southern Fried Catfish for only $15.95. If you are looking for a more traditional dish, you can choose from classic dishes such as steak, ribs or burgers.

Guests have raved about the perfectly seasoned and slow cooked southern style pot roast. 

Finish off your meal with one of Hagy's decadent desserts like lemon rub, banana cream or caramel pie. 

Hagy's has so much history that we wanted to highlight a few fun facts for you.

-During the Civil War, that shack even housed Union soldiers who were fighting at the Battle of Shiloh. 

-Hagy's is well-known for their unique southern dishes including bread and deep fried frog legs.
